Cold Warps – Slimer 7 inch

Brilliant AM radio power-pop poured through fuzz and played faster and louder. Simple songs, lo-fi solos and raw-sugar harmonies. Absolutely nothing is spared; everything cleaned and sacrificed at the alter of the almighty hook. This is not intellectual rock, it’s Joey Ramone beating Paul McCartney over the head with songs about science fiction, teenage apathy, and summer love. The fixed link between Halifax and Ottawa, Cold Warps are garage/power-pop at it’s whatever-est.
Formed in 2009, Cold Warps are Dominique Taylor, Paul Hammond, Ryan Allen, and Lance Purcell. With two cassette EPs under their belts, both of which sold out of their initial pressings in the first year, Cold Warps have been garnering lots of attention. While Taylor currently lives in Ottawa, ON, the band is working hard to stay productive. With a recent 12″ LP re-issue of the first two EPs (Noyes Records), and their brand new Slimer 7″ single (Fundog Records) showcasing their weirder, darker side, Cold Warps are poised to do a lot.
