Milks & Rectangles – Dirty Gold

Dirty Gold sees the anthemic Milks & Rectangles continue developing a sound characterized by rollicking guitars and pounding rhythms.

The EP was engineered by Adam Gallant (English Words, Racoon Bandit), produced by Daniel Ledwell (In-Flight Safety, Jenn Grant) and mastered by J. LaPointe.

“We are feeling optimistic about this darker record,” said band member Christian Ledwell, who is also a touring member of Prince Edward Island’s Boxer The Horse. “The shoegazey parts shoegaze harder, and the dancey parts remind me of trains more.”

Milks & Rectangles are Michael Carver, Justin Uyterlinde, Brandon Williams, and Christian Ledwell. Their debut EP Civic Virtues was released in August 2009; it was nominated for two Music PEI awards and was one of Herohill.com’s Best Canadian EPs of 2009. Their second EP, Troubleshooters, is also available for free download on Bandcamp, including lead single “Wink and a Gun (The Jury’s Hung),” which debuted at #4 on the G12 countdown of George Strombolopoulos’ The Strombo Show.

Milks & Rectangles are a member of Night Danger Records, an affiliate of Outside Music, with labelmates In-Flight Safety and The Robots.
