Money In The Banana Stand

Hailing from Charlottetown, PEI, Money In The Banana Stand is an eclectic Maritime punk band that blends pop-punk, noisy folk rock, and tinges of hardcore to form two and a half minute bursts of raw energy.

With rock’n’roll songs that come straight from the heart, tear vocal cords, rip apart fingertips and rarely dip below a bellowing fortissimo, their debut album, There’s Always, captures an intensity that mimics a restless throng of twenty-somethings pushing a million shopping carts off the Confederation Bridge.

From the urgency of the riffs and vocals on “Laughing All The Way To The Bank,” the pop melodies of “What You Know,” and the chugging bass lines and pounding drums of “PMA,” There’s Always showcases a dozen straight-ahead songs written by four regular guys who write music about things they care about: life in a small town, friendship, and living a meaningful life in an increasingly material and superficial world.

Weaving these themes into a tapestry of buzz-saw guitars, galloping drums, and hearty roars, the band’s songs are a constant reminder that no matter how many terrible things may seem, there’s always Money In The Banana Stand.
