Owl

Originally started as a bedroom recording project between Vanessa Murnaghan and Matthew Macdonald (The Superfantastics) in August 2008, Owl quickly made their way onto internet music blogs, into rotation at indie dance nights, and onto the stage.
The duo’s debut album, Chants (The Vibrations in the Streets Keep Me Weak in the Knees), is a seven-song EP that combines equal parts MGMT and The Postal Service with Macdonald’s own electronic arrangements and Murnaghan’s warm melodies and laid back delivery.
Subtle, eclectic and earnest, The Coast has heralded Owl’s songs for featuring “a quiet underbelly of synth and threads of guitar, while Murnaghan’s low, sweet voice sings about friends and lovers.”
