The Robots

Hey Buddy, Dummy (Night Danger) sees The Robots entering uncharted waters for Canada’s East Coast music scene. From minimal first steps to echoing climaxes, the album layers diverse elements and styles into a unique vision and sound.

During “ShudderBoxin” the band channels TV On the Radio to create a wordy and catyclysmic masterpiece. In the latter half of “The Cape,” frontman Peter Rankin sings, “on the rocks I hesitate… it’s my way out”. When set against shifty distorted bass and piano, reminiscent of The Pixies or downtrodden Sonic Youth, it chills.

Based out of Prince Edward Island, The Robots are made up of Peter Rankin (guitar, vocals), Keith Baglole (keyboards), Chris Doiron (bass) and Phil MacIssac (drums). They recorded Hey Buddy, Dummy with Charles Austin (Superfriendz, Buck 65) at Echo Chamber in Halifax, NS.
