York Redoubt

Stringing together strong willed power pop melodies, noise laden riff rock and unorthodox field recordings, York Redoubt have produced a stunning brand of shoegaze inspired, controlled chaos. York Redoubt (Noyes/Hot Money Records) was recorded by Charles Austin (Superfriendz, Buck 65) and Dave Ewenson (Brent Randall & His Pinecones, City Field). It captures the band’s eclectic influences and bundles them with feedback, spliced noise and howled harmonies channeling a resurgent lo-fi aesthetic.

After a coast to coast Canadian summer tour that saw York Redoubt earn a slot at Calgary’s Sled Island Festival, the band continues to take their fragmented, noisy pop songs to audiences across the country. They will be performing at both Pop Montreal and The Halifax Pop Explosion in the coming months.
